Bow Grip
Continued from page 8
Her writing in the book is simple, straightforward, the prose of the prairie. This is, after all, the part of Canada that spawned k d lang back when she was a country crooner, the next incarnation of Patsy Cline. People there are the salt of the earth, and tolerance and acceptance is something that happens between people, although not necessarily between sides in the culture wars. Coyote's writing is warm, accessible,
engrossing, engaging. Her short story collections are scintillating, and her first novel is sublime.
In the acknowledgments at the end of the book, she thanks her partner Mette Bach for her unceasing support, and her cousin Dan Bushnell for his prodding and technical assistance, among the many others one normally thanks in such pieces.
If that's the case, fans of the written word need to start up a collection and send gift baskets, flowers and chocolates to Bach and Bushnell. It seems only fair, since they gave us Bow Grip.

"The generosity of the artists and the gallery community never ceases to amaze me," Rodriguez said.

According to Rodriguez, the expenses are mostly paid for from corporate sponsorships and other donations-cash and in-kind-so that all the proceeds form the auctions and other sources go directly to CATF.
